New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking an FIR against some wrestlers for slapping false allegations on WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and indulging in hate speech.

Metropolitan Magistrate Anamika decided on the adjournment of the hearing to October 6 as per a request from the complainant.

"Learned Counsel for the complainant has requested for some time to argue on the application u/s 156 (3) Cr. PC. At his request, the matter will be put up for argument on October 6," the magistrate said.

In this matter, a fresh complaint under Section 156(3) and 200 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C) was filed against the wrestlers on May 25.

As per the direction of the court, an action taken report (ATR) has been filed by Delhi Police on June 9 before the judiciary.

Delhi Police has submitted that in the video provided by the complainant, the wrestlers are not seen raising slogans, and no offence of hate speech is made out. The police requested the application be dismissed.

Bam Bam Maharaj Nauhatiya, the complainant, has alleged that wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik made false allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and indulged in hate speech.
