Covid-19: Assam government imposes lockdown for 14 days in Guwahati

Guwahati/IBNS: In view of the spike in Novel Coronavirus cases in Assam, the government of the northeastern state on Friday imposed a complete lockdown for 14 days in Guwahati.

The lockdown will continue from Jun 28 midnight to Jul 12, announced Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press conference here.

Assam has so far reported 6,321 cases including nine deaths and 4,033 cured.

The central government had earlier announced various relaxations including reopening of restaurants, malls, religious places in the lockdown 5.0 which will end on Jun 30.

The lockdown 5.0 is only restricted to the containment zones.
