Case registered against Arunachal BJP MLA on rape charge

Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh police have registered a case against a BJP MLA of the state on rape charges.

According to the reports, the case has been registered at Women Police Station, Itanagar against BJP MLA Goruk Pordung.

Itanagar Capital Complex Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo confirmed it and said that, following an FIR lodged by the victim woman, a case has been registered at Women police station, Itanagar.

“We had received a complaint against the MLA of Bameng constituency yesterday and based on the complaint, a case has been registered against him,” Tumme Amo said.

According to the reports, the victim woman is a doctor and the MLA of Bameng assembly constituency had allegedly raped her.

The Itanagar Capital Complex SP further said that the investigation is going on.

Goruk Pordung was elected to the Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly from Bameng constituency in last assembly elections.
