Guwahati, Mar 9 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to announce the party's candidates' list for the upcoming Assam assembly polls on Wednesday.

The assembly election in Assam will be held on April 4 and 11 in two phases.

The screening committee of the saffron party headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday evening is scheduled to finalize the candidate list for 84 assembly constituencies out of 126 seats.

Earlier, the BJP had made poll alliance with Hagrama Mahilary led BPF and Asom Gana Parishad.

A top leader of the saffron party said that the BJP eyes to win in Assam, which is dominated by the Congress for the last 15 years.

“PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah will finalize the candidate list,” the BJP leader said.
