BJP calls for Mysore bandh following party worker's death

Mysore, Mar 14 (IBNS) Prohibitory orders have been imposed across Mysore after the BJP called a bandh in the city on Monday to protest the the murder of a party worker on Sunday, according to media reports.

In Congress-led Karnataka, BJP forms the opposition.

Reportedly, B Raju, in his 30s, was standing at a tea stall on M G Road, when he was attacked by a group of men. He died on the spot

According to local media reports, the police have said that four people have been detained.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad joined the BJP in staging protests across Mysore and demanding that the police conduct a speedy investigation into the murder.

According to the city police chief, B Dayananda, protesters turning violent was limited to a few areas in the city.
