Kolkata, Mar 20 (IBNS): Left Front (LF) chairman Biman Bose on Sunday released party's election manifesto in Kolkata for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.

The LF has given 18 promises, including restoration of democracy, assurance for women's safety and security, strict action against chit funds' bosses and returning money to chit funds' depositors, in its manifesto.

Meanwhile, a leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)'s youth wing- Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI)- was allegedly beaten up by Trinamool Congress (TMC) men at Beliaghata area in Kolkata on Sunday when he was holding election campaign there in favour of Left candidate Rajib Biswas, for the upcoming polls.

DYFI leader Sandip Natta and four other CPI-M activists were injured in the attack and were taken to Nil Ratan Sarkar (NRS) Medical College and Hospital. After first aid, they were released from the hospital.

The party has lodged complaint against 3 TMC activists and staged agitation in front of Beliaghata Police Station, demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

Local TMC leader and candidate from Beliaghata constituency for assembly elections, Paresh Pal denied all allegations against his party and described the incident as fabricated.

Meanwhile, a TMC activist was reportedly injured in Kolkata's Behala area during a clash with CPI-M over the issue of designing election graffiti.

However, CPI-M candidate from Behala West constituency for Bengal polls Kaustav Chatterjee denied their involvement in the matter and claimed that the clash was an outcome of TMC's group tussle.
