Srinagar, Jul 12 (IBNS): At least three militants of Hizb outfit were killed in an encounter by security forces on Wednesday morning in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district.

According to reports, 2nd RR, 176 Battalion of CRPF and SoG cordoned off Radbug village in Budgam after receiving specific inputs about the presence of some militants.

"When forces zeroed in the suspected house, militants opened fire on a search party, which ensured a fierce gunbattle," said a police officer.

The encounter continued for six hours, resulting in the death of three local Hizb militants, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, the officer added.

This comes a day after the Amarnath Yatra attack, In which seven people were killed and 19 were injured when militants attacked a bus carrying the pilgrims in Batingu, near Anantnag of South Kashmir.
