Arvind Kejriwal to hold cabinet meeting today amid Delhi's Covid spike

| @indiablooms | Apr 18, 2021, at 04:50 pm

New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called a cabinet meeting on Sunday amid a surge in Covid cases in the national capital.

The city recorded an unprecedented 24,000 new cases over 24 hours on Saturday evening.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain will be at the meeting along with other ministers.

On Saturday, the Delhi government had flagged a shortage in oxygen and the drug Remdesivir.

Kejriwal had said the situation is "very serious and worrisome".

"Cases have gone up really fast. That is why we are facing shortages even though everything seemed under control until a few days ago. But the speed at which this corona is growing, no one knows where its peak will be," he had added.
