Arvind Kejriwal takes stock of Delhi flood situation

New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Friday inspected repair works at Indraprastha Regulator and deployed all resources to stop flooding caused by the same.

Kejriwal said that he is personally monitoring repair work. Delhi government, NDRF, and Army teams are repairing the regulator, and "we are trying our best to prevent water from entering the city," said Kejriwal.

"Engineers and staff have been at work through the night, trying to repair the regulator, I thank everyone for their dedication," said CM.

Kejriwal also informed Yamuna levels are going down slowly and the people of Delhi will soon start getting relief.

As soon as the water level of Yamuna comes down, all the water treatment plants will start functioning, he added.

He also hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing it of doing politics over the damaged regulator.

"BJP should not do politics at such a time," Kejriwal said.

Responding to the question of some gates being closed on the ITO Bridge, he said there are 32 gates on the bridge, out of which five are jammed.

"The Haryana government is responsible for its maintenance. They are trying to open those gates since yesterday. This is not the time to blame each other. Everyone is working together. If all the gates were open, the water would come out faster," he added.
