Hyderabad, Mar 28 (IBNS) Following the footsteps of Telangana, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly has proposed a salary hike for MLAs to at least Rs 2 lakh a month, reports said.

The salary hike for the MLAs has been recommended by an Assembly committee citing rising inflation.

This comes just days after the Telangana government cleared the proposal to increase the salary of its legislators from Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh per month.

The legislators in Telangana have also demanded plots and houses in Hyderabad, citing that they come from other cities. They have even demanded that more money be allocated to them for buying vehicles.
