Pathankot, Jan 21 (IBNS) A suspected Pakistani national was shot dead in Pathankot near the international border with Pakistan on Thursday morning, media reports said.

According to the reports, three  men were seen infiltrating around 6 am. They had come around 50 meters inside the Indian territory.

When challenged by the Border Security Force personnel, they did not stop and the security forces opened fire in which one of the men were killed.

The two other infiltrators were seen running away towards the Pakistani side, a combing operation is on in the area.

The entire area around Pathankot is on alert since the terror attack on the air force base earlier this month. Six terrorists, who had come to destroy air force assets, were killed after an 80-hour operation. Seven security personnel were martyred.
