Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Dec 25 (IBNS) A schoolgirl on her way to tuition was allegedly gang-raped and killed by four men in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh town, triggering an outrage among the local people, reports said.

On Wednesday, the 17-year-old class 9 student was on her way to tuition when she was pulled off her bicycle and dragged into a nearby sugarcane filed by four men in the city's Harduaganj area where she was gang-raped before being strangled.

According to police, the men had come on two bikes.

The girl's body was found hours after the incident and the villagers did not allow it to be removed for a long time, alleging police inaction.

The locals allegedly attacked four  policemen while protesting the incident.

A large force arrived the spot and two persons were picked up for questioning.
