After criticism, Sachin Tendulkar attends Rajya Sabha proceedings

New Delhi, Aug 3 (IBNS) : Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar attended the Rajya Sabha proceedings on Thursday ending a long absence that raised questions from some quarters.

However, Tendulkar did not ask any questions during the proceedings.

Boxer Mary Kom was also  present at the Upper House.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Agarwal had questioned the absence of nominated members from the Rajya Sabha.

Agarwal had asked Tendulkar and actress Rekha to resign from the Rajya Sabha.

According to data from Rajya Sabha website, Sachin attended just two out of 25 sessions in last year’s winter session. In the budget session this year, he attended 1 out of 8 sessions.
