New Delhi, Dec 26 (IBNS): At a meeting of Delhi cabinet ministers on Saturday morning, the Arvind Kejriwal government decided to scrap nearly 1000 autorickshaw permits in Delhi after alleged irregularities were found in their allotment.
The Delhi government also suspended three officials of the transport department, including a senior bureaucrat, in the matter.

"Three officials of transport dept being suspended. Corruption in issuing fresh letter of interests for 3 wheelers," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted.

The Delhi government has decided not to issue any more permits for the time being.

"Fresh LOIs for 3-wheelers were being issued randomly despite transpot ministers order to issue it in chronological order of applications," he posted.

"It was found that in many cases the LOIs were being given to dealers instead of applicants," the Minister added.

Sisodia has said the matter would be handed over to the CBI.

"The matter would be handed over to CBI. This govt can not tolerate corruption at any level," Sisodia tweeted.
