Kolkata, Aug 22 (IBNS): Supporters of Left-wing students' union, All India Student Federation (AISF), and right-wing student organization, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), scuffled with each other over a rally of Kanhaiya Kumar in Kolkata on Tuesday evening, reports said.

According to reports, AISF organized a mass rally at Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand area in southern part of the city where Kanhaiya Kumar was present as the chief speaker.

While Kanhaiya was addressing the rally, a large number of ABVP supporters allegedly attacked the mass meeting and few of them tried to throw ink aiming at Kanhaiya Kumar.

When organizers protested against it and tried to stop ABVP supporters, they engaged in a skirmish with each others.

A heavy police force from nearby Jadavpur Police Station rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.

According to police officials, several supporters of AISF and ABVP, and few media persons were injured due to the scuffle.

However, amid tension, Kanhaiya Kumar delivered his speech in the rally here.
