Kabul/IBNS/UNI: At least 25 people have been killed and 10 others injured in a landslide in the eastern Afghan province of Nuristan, Khaama Press reported on Monday, citing the country's Ministry of Disaster Management.

The landslide has been caused by the recent rains and snowfalls in the province's Nurgaram district, the ministry's head of information and communications, Mohammad Abdullah Jan, was quoted as saying by the news agency.

Apart from the casualties, the disaster caused the complete or partial destruction of at least 20 houses, the report said.

In addition, five workers have gone missing in the nearby province of Panjshir after massive snowfalls, Khaama Press reported.
