16-year-old girl gang-raped, murdered in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Jan 6 (IBNS) A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and murdered by four people in Uttarakhand, reports said.

A minor has been arrested while the three other accused are still at large.

The incident, which happened in the  remote Jaunsar-Bawar region, came .to light when the body of the class 9 student was found hanging from a tree in a forest near her home in Rota village.

According to the reports, the girl was last seen while she was going to school.

The arrested minor has reportedly  confessed to the crime. He reportedly admitted that he had hid his bike, thrown his clothes into the river to destroy the evidence of the crime.
