10 killed in Gujarat road mishap

Ahmedabad, Mar 12 (IBNS): At least 10 people were killed as a tractor-trailer fell in a well in Gujarat's Mahisagar district on Saturday, officials said.

The mishap left more than 20 others injured.

The vehicle was going to to a cremation ground in Gadh.

The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle when it was moving on a slope and dropped in a well.

Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel ‏mourned the loss of lives in the mishap and tweeted: "Road mishap in Mahisagar district is extremely disturbing. My condolences to kin of those who lost their lives & prayers for the injured."

"Have declared Rs 4 lakh financial aid to families of deceased & also announced complete medical support for the injured twd their recovery," she said.
