Agartala/Tripura: In a bid to attract more buyers from national markets, Tripura's Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, announced that a special exhibition showcasing the state's renowned Queen Pineapple will take place in New Delhi on Thursday.

The Queen Pineapple, an exclusive horticulture produce grown in Tripura and the only Geographical Indication (GI) tagged product from the state, has garnered significant appreciation after being exported to countries such as Dubai, Qatar, and Germany.

Speaking about the exhibition, Minister Nath emphasized the unique taste and texture of the Queen Pineapple, which has made it highly sought-after by buyers worldwide.

While pineapple is cultivated across the country, this particular variety stands out for its exceptional qualities. The event aims to capture the attention of more national buyers, thereby enabling farmers to secure better prices for their crops.

Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, has also expressed his consent to attend the exhibition, highlighting the significance of the event. A team of officials has already arrived in Delhi with the pineapples, and the remaining consignments will be transported today.

Minister Nath shared these details with media personnel during an interaction on the sidelines of a blood donation camp organized by a private Diagnostic Center in Agartala.

The exhibition holds immense potential for Tripura's agriculture sector, and the state government is committed to promoting its unique horticultural produce to a wider audience.

With the special exhibition poised to showcase the finest quality Queen Pineapples from Tripura, farmers and officials are optimistic about attracting increased attention from buyers across the country.

The event promises to be a platform for fostering fruitful collaborations and securing better market opportunities for Tripura's pineapple growers.
