Kolkata: Vivanta Kolkata offers fascinating cuisines from Kerala to food enthusiasts

People in Kolkata can savour authentic cuisines from Kerala at Vivanta Kolkata, EM Bypass, which offers a fascinating array of cuisine from Southern India at its all-day dining restaurant, Mynt.

The Kerala Coastal Food Festival will be held till June 22, priced at INR 1699 plus taxes (Dinner only, from 7pm-11pm).

Renowned for its subtle, aromatic, and often coconut-infused flavours, Kerala cuisine highlights a remarkable diversity, reflecting its varied geography and cultural traditions.

Notable dishes are particularly famous from regions such as Malabar, Central Travancore, and Alleppey (Alappuzha). It is highly influenced by its geography, with the coastal areas known for their fresh seafood delicacies, while the inland regions are famous for their rich vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, often featuring spices like black pepper, cardamom, and cloves, and the ubiquitous coconut.

Chefs Dhanya Nair and Shaji AV of Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Cochin, bring their culinary expertise to the City of Joy, serving guests the most authentic flavours of God’s Own Country.

Drawing from ancient cooking methods and using locally sourced ingredients, they stay true to the rich traditions of Kerala cuisine.

Guests can relish the rich flavours of Kerala with an array of delicacies like Kozhi Porichathu (Chicken), Nadan Chemmeen Curry (Prawn), Mutton Coconut Fry, Fish Moilee, Angamali Manga Curry, Aviyal , Pineapple Pulliserry, Kallappam, Kerala Matta Rice, Palada Payasam, Calicut Halwa offering a hearty and authentic dining experience.

Commenting on the occasion, Chef Dhanya Nair said, "Kerala cuisine is a harmonious blend of tanginess, spiciness, and rich flavours, making it truly unique and tantalizing to the taste buds. This is a wonderful opportunity for the people of Kolkata to experience and savour the traditional flavours of Kerala."
