Few injured as tremors hit West Bengal

Kolkata, Apr 19 (IBNS) At least four people suffered minor injuries in different parts of West Bengal as tremors were felt in the state after an earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale hit Myanmar - India Border Region on Wednesday.

According to reports, some were injured as they fall on ground while rushing out of buildings during the earthquake.

Police said the injured people in Siliguri town were taken to hospital for treatment.

The Kolkata Metro service was temporarily stalled after earthquake tremors were felt in the city on Wednesday.

No casualty has been reported so far.
