| @indiablooms | Jul 04, 2018, at 02:13 pm

Guwahati, Jul 4 (IBNS): The flood situation has further worsened with the inundation of fresh areas by the flood water in Chirang and Bongaigaon districts in lower Assam.

On Wednesday, a bridge over the Hut Huti in Chirang district collapsed as the river overflowed following incessant rains for the past couple of days.

Flood waters entered many houses and most of the people have taken shelter in safer places.

Following torrential rains water levels of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries have risen to cross the danger mark in many places.

This year flood in the state has claimed 32 lives so far.
