6.4 earthquake hits Taiwan

Taipei, Feb 6 (IBNS): At least three people were killed as a massive earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale hit Taiwan on Saturday.

Several buildings have been toppled in  Tainan city.

According to reports, more than 220 people have been rescued from under the rubble so far.

USGS website said 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit 28km North-East of Pingtung country.

Rescue workers are trying to pull out people from under collapsed buildings.

Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou will visit  Tainan city.
