Mumbai/IBNS: India's largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) has waived charges for its customers on all transactions made on SBI ATMs and other bank ATMs, after exceeding free transactions, till June 30.

"In view of the announcement made by Finance Minister on 24th March, State Bank of India has decided to waive ATM charges for all ATM transactions made on SBI ATMs and other bank ATMs on account of exceeding free number of transactions up to 30th June," the announcement was posted on SBI's official website.

On March 24, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said customers will be allowed to withdraw cash from any bank ATM free of charge for three months, i.e. till June 30, in view COVID-19 outbreak.

As such, SBI offers eight free transactions to it regular savings account holders, including five at its own ATMs and three at other bank ATMs.

In non-metros, such account holders get ten free transactions--five at SBI ATMs and five at other Bank ATMs.

Last month, the bank waived charges on non-maintenance of average quarterly balance for all savings accounts. It also waived SMS charges.
