Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Wednesday dropped by 34 paise to close in the negative at 74.74 against the US Dollar on rising demand for the US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit that slipped by 23 paise to 74.63 in early trade lost ground by 34 paise to settle at 74.74 as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee fell owing to strong Dollar against other world currencies, dealers added.

The rupee registered the intra days high and low at 74.78 and 74.60 respectively, they added.
