Indian rupee down 31 paise to 71.54 against USD

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) The Rupee on Tuesday slid by 31 paise to 71.54 against the US Dollar on brisk demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market.

The local unit that fell marginally by one paisa to 71.24 in opening trade, tumbled further by 31 paise to end negative at 71.54 as compared to its last close.


The Indian Rupee remained weak on firm Dollar against other world currencies, however firm equity market capped from further decline, they added.


The local unit recorded day high and low at 71.58 and 71.20 respectively.
