Indian Market: Sensex zooms by 1308.39 points during week

Mumbai/UNI: Sensex zoomed by 1,308.39 points or 3.50 per cent to settle at 38,697.05 in the truncated trading week under review as lockdown norms were relaxed.

Even renewed US stimulus hopes kept the global markets lifted.

The Nifty too jumped 366.70 points or 3.32 pc to settle at 11,416.95.

The BSE Mid-Cap spurted 476.57 or 3.32 pc to settle at 14,813.25. The BSE Small-Cap rallied 474.86 points or 3.28 pc to settle at 14,970.44.

Tracking positive global cues the Sensex jumped 592.97 points at 37,981.63. The Nifty too surged 177.30 points to settle at 11,227.55.

On Tuesday the Sensex, fell 8.41 points to settle at 37,973.22. Nifty lost 5.15 points to settle at 11,222.40.

On Wednesday the Sensex, climbed 94.71 points to settle at 38,067.93. Nifty rose 25.15 points to settle at 11,247.55.

On Thursday, the sensex surged 629.12 pts to 38,697.05.

The Nifty too advanced by 169 pts to 11,416.95 on better-than-expected domestic macro numbers and decent auto sales in September 2020 supported buying.

Markets remained closed on Friday on account of Gandhi Jayanti.
