Indian Market: Sensex up 296 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex remained strong for the third straight session on Wednesday, as it advanced by 296 pts to 32,410.55 in opening session on brisk buying in finance, utilities, power and metal stocks amid mixed trend in global market.

The nifty of national stock exchange too rose by 67 points to 9389.80.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 32,431.20 and 32,171.65 points respectively.

The nifty registered intra days high and low at 9,469.95 and 9,392.35 points respectively.

The sectoral indices that increased were Metals, Finance, Power and utilities.

The Mid cap rose by 0.85 per cent and Small cap by 0.82 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while eight declined.

The gainers were HDFC by 4.57 per cent to Rs 1794.10, Bajaj finance by 2.76 per cent to Rs 2290.95, HDFC Bank by 2.61 per cent to Rs 955.75, Tech Mahindra by 2.10 per cent to Rs 531.35 and Tata Steel by 2.01 per cent to Rs 279.05.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 4.50 per cent to Rs 447.80, Axis Bank by 4.09 per cent to Rs 436.90, Titan by 1.37 per cent to Rs 920 and Asian Paints by 1.18 per cent to Rs 1802.65.
