GDP grows at 5.7 percent
Signalling a revival in the economy, the government released a data on Friday which showed the country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.7 percent in the April-June quarter of 2014-15.
"Quarterly GDP at factor cost at constant (2004-2005) prices for Q1 of 2014-15 is estimated at '14.38 lakh crore,as against ` 13.61 lakh crore in Q1 of 2013-14, showing a growth rate of 5.7 per cent over the corresponding quarter ofprevious year," a statement released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementationsaid.
