Gautam Adani-led Adani Group planning investment Vietnam's airports

Hanoi: Gautam Adani-led Adani Group is exploring investments in two airports in Vietnam, Reuters reported, citing a statement by the Vietnamese government on Wednesday.

This announcement follows the group's recent approval to construct a seaport in the country.

The government issued the statement after a meeting in Delhi between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Gautam Adani during Chinh's official visit to India.

"Adani is looking to enhance cooperation with Vietnamese partners in the aviation and logistics sectors through the development of Long Thanh airport and Chu Lai airport," the statement said, referring to significant airports in Vietnam's southern and central regions.

The statement did not specify the investment amount or timeline.

Last year, Karan Adani, the elder son of Gautam Adani, outlined plans to invest up to $3 billion in seaport and renewable energy projects in Vietnam, with potential investments reaching $10 billion in the long term.

In related news, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) recently announced that it had received a proposal from Adani Group to upgrade Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) under a public-private partnership. The proposal was submitted by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL).
