Crisis deepens in auto sector as sales fall by 18 percent in July

Mumbai, Aug 13 (IBNS): Crisis deepened in the auto sector as sales across all categories dropped by 18.71% to 1,825,148 units in July, media report said.

The sales of passenger vehicles have fallen by 30.98% to 200,790 units in July.

According to the data provided by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM), sales of commercial vehicles slumped by 25.71% to 56,866 units.

The sales of two-wheeler vehicles have fallen by 16.82% to 1,511,692 units.
