Kolkata, June 17 (IBNS): Global telecommunications company Bharti Airtel Limited along with Apple on Tuesday launched 4G on mobile in Kolkata.

With the roll out of Airtel 4G services on mobile, customers can experience an all new ‘electrifying’ internet browsing experience anytime, anywhere.

Customers using Apple iPhone 5s or 5c have to just upgrade their existing SIM to a 4G SIM and select from any 4G plan to start enjoying mobile internet browsing at unbeatable speeds.

Customers can now walk into Airtel stores at Salt Lake City Center 1, Park Street, Golpark and Dr. UN Brahmachari Street to experience LIVE demos and get started on 4G.

They will experience high definition video streaming with zero buffering, downloading 10 movies in less than 30 minutes, uploading full holiday albums in less than 5 minutes by uploading 2 high quality photos per second and also connecting multiple devices without any experience constraint, the company said in a  statement.

While existing and new prepaid customers can start enjoying 4G by selecting any of the affordable 4G packs after upgrading their SIM to a 4G SIM, postpaid customers can further customize their 4G plans by opting for an Airtel myPlan of their choice and then selecting myBoosters with 4G benefits.

While data browsing will be on 4G network, voice calls will be routed on 2G seamlessly with the CSFB (circuit switched fall back) technology.

Announcing the launch, PD Sarma, Hub CEO – WBO & NESA, Bharti Airtel (India) said, “Kolkata witnessed the advent of 4G in 2012 and today we are proud to announce the launch of the much awaited 4G on mobile, empowering residents in the city to upgrade to the 4G – the fastest ever mobile broadband, matching their mobile internet experience with the rest of the world. As a brand we are committed to enriching the lives of millions and invite our data savvy customers in the city to enjoy this world class data experience which we are offering at unbeatable prices.”

Customers can also enjoy Airtel 4G on Xolo LT 900 and LG G2 (model D802T) apart from iPhone 5S (models A1530 & A1518) and 5C (models A1529 & A1516). Customers can select from a host of affordable 4G plans.

On prepaid, customers can now go LIVE on 4G for Rs. 42 . A special pack of Rs. 999 for postpaid and Rs. 995 for prepaid have also been introduced for heavy data users which will offer 10 GB of 4G data.
