Zimbabwean VP's wife arrested on money laundering, fraud charges

Harare/Xinhua/UNI: Zimbabwean Vice President Constantino Chiwenga' estranged wife, who was arrested over fraud charges, will appear in court on initial remand on Monday, Zimbabwe's anti-corruption commission said.

The commission arrested 38-year-old Marry Mubaiwa on Saturday, spokesperson John Makamure confirmed to Xinhua on Monday.

Mubaiwa faces six counts of externalization of funds, five counts of money laundering and one of fraud.

She allegedly moved more than 1 million U.S. dollars out of the country and laundered nearly 920,000 dollars.
