China on Wednesday displayed its military might and showcased its new weapons during the nation's 'Victory Day' celebration, the event marking Japan's formal surrender at the end of World War Two.

Chinese President Xi Jinping led the celebration and witnessed the military display parade at the iconic Tiananmen Square in Beijing city.

In his speech praising the military, Xi Jinping reportedly said his country's rise remained 'unstoppable'.

In a rare bonhomie, Xi was spotted with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, sending out a message to the US amid the ongoing trade war.

The parade, reportedly witnessed by 50,000 spectators who had gathered at the site, featured over 10,000 troops and hundreds of advanced weapons, revealing Xi's push to modernise the country's army further.

In his speech, Xi Jinping sent out a clear message to the US by saying that his nation would not be bullied by any country.

“The Chinese nation is the great nation that is never intimidated by any bullies,” Xi was quoted as saying by CNN ahead of the military parade.

“In the past when faced with critical struggles between good and evil, light and darkness, progress and reaction, Chinese people rallied together to defeat the enemy,” he said.

Donald Trump alleges China, North Korea, Russia are consipring against the US

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday wrote on Truth Social that China, North Korea and the Russia were conspiring against the USA as leaders from the three nations assembled for the celebration.

Trump said: "The big question to be answered is whether or not President Xi of China will mention the massive amount of support and 'blood' that The United States of America gave to China in order to help it to secure its FREEDOM from a very unfriendly foreign invader. Many Americans died in China’s quest for Victory and Glory."

"I hope that they are rightfully Honored and Remembered for their Bravery and Sacrifice! May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration. Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America. PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP," he said.
