Woman stabbed inside Miami International Airport, suspect arrested

One woman was injured after she was stabbed in the Miami International Airport late Saturday night, media reports said.

The stabbing occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. local time on the fourth floor of Terminal J, according to a press release issued by the Miami-Dade Police Department, reported USA Today.

According to reports, the suspect even tried to throw the victim over a railing in the terminal.

Airport operation was briefly disrupted following the incident.

"Using all available resources, the units were able to determine there was no active shooter and only the stabbing had taken place," the statement said. "Airport operations were briefly disrupted but have since resumed to normal operations."

The injured woman was rushed to hospital.

An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.

The suspect has been arrested.

According to reports, authorities have recovered the knife.

In a separate statement, the Miami International Airport said: " We want to assure the public that the situation is under control and the safety of our passengers, staff, and visitors remains our top priority. Authorities responded immediately, and the situation was swiftly contained."
