Washington/IBNS:  US President Joe Biden on Thursday said that he made his first conversation over a phone call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping since taking office.

The US President said the phone call lasted two hours.

"Last night, I was in the phone for two straight hours with Xi Jinping," Biden told reporters.

According to reports, Biden challenged President Xi Jinping on human rights, trade and regional muscle-flexing during the call.

The call is seen as setting the tone for the US-China relationship.
