Seattle, Aug 11 (IBNS): Services at Seattle-Tacoma international airport in the USA were stopped briefly after a passenger plane took off without permission, reports said on Saturday.

The said aircraft, Horizon Air Q400, did an unauthorised take off without a passenger on board.

It later crashed into the sea, officials said.

The identity of the pilot has not yet been ascertained.

However, services have resumed.

"An airline employee conducted an unauthorized takeoff without passengers at Sea-Tac; aircraft has crashed in south Puget Sound. Normal operations at Sea-Tac Airport have resumed," a tweet from the official Twitter account of the airport read.
