US President Joe Biden tests Covid-19 positive with mild symptoms

Washington/IBNS: US President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms on Wednesday.

Biden will return to Delaware where he will self-isolate.

In a press statement, The White House said, "President Biden is vaccinated, boosted, and he is experiencing mild symptoms following a positive COVID-19 test.

"He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time."

Speaking to reporters, Biden said he was doing good.

However, it is yet to be cleared how the testing of positive for Covid-19 will impact Biden's campaign for the Presidential elections.

Biden has been under a lot of heat after his dismal performance at a Presidential debate with his immediate predecessor and Republican Party candidate, Donald Trump.

Though demands are raised from various quarters for him to step down, Biden is defiant about going on with his bid to return to power for the second consecutive term.

Trump, on the other hand, has been increasing his foothold with each passing day.

The Republican candidate, who survived an assassination attempt last weekend, is garnering more support and is back on the campaign trail with full vigour.

In a recent interview, Biden said he would only step down from the Presidential race if his doctor diagnoses him with any health issue.

According to a survey, about two-thirds of the Democrats want Biden to step down and get replaced by someone else.
