At least two minor brothers were injured after a toy-like bomb exploded in a house in Miramshah region of Pakistan on Saturday, media reports said.

According to the police, the explosion took place in a residential building near the Syed Jalal checkpoint when the children were playing with an object that resembled a toy, reported Dawn News.

The injured brothers were identified as  Javed, 8, and Khalid, 6.

They were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Miramshah for treatment.

Hospital sources told Dawn News that the condition of the two siblings is stable.

Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.

Initial investigations suggest that the toy-like bomb was thrown or left at an unknown location and was brought home by the children thinking it was a toy, reported Dawn News.
