Toronto: TTC’s new online store of transit-themed merchandise

Toronto, Nov 30 (IBNS): Following the success of major transit agencies in the world, Toronto Transit agency launched this week its online store and claims it has “something for everyone”, reported CP24.

Highlights of this online store are transit-themed goods ranging from phone cases, shower curtains and blinds, mugs, toques with reasonably low price.

One would be taken aback by the low price of Artwork, such as canvas wrap of the Gladstone Hotel for only $175.

“Working with Toronto-based SVS Marketing, the merchandise was designed and produced with quality and appearance at top of mind. Emphasis was also placed on finding Canadian or locally produced merchandise,” read a news release issued by the TTC Monday.

“In addition to promoting the TTC as an integral part of Toronto for residents and visitors alike, the TTC assumes no financial risk in the venture and there is no cost to the TTC for establishing the venture. The TTC Shop is run by SVS, which will manage the inventory and fulfill orders with no up-front costs to the TTC.”

The launch of this online store is described by TTC as “another step” in the transit service’s “modernization.”

"Other major transit agencies in the world do this and do it quite successfully and our customers have been asking for it," TTC spokesperson Cheryn Thoun told CP24 Tuesday.

Thoun added that more products will continue to be added to the site by the TTC.

All income created from the online store will be publicly reported at the end of the year, Thoun said.
