The daughter of the university lecturer and political analyst Faizaullah Jalal on Tuesday said his father has been released from captivity.

He was released after four days' detention.

Hasina Jalal in a voice clip confirmed the release and thanked all those who did their part in raising the voice for the release of his father’s detention, Khaama Press reported.

“My father-Faizullah Jalal got released from Taliban’s detention. I thank all Afghan people, the International community and the media that did their part in getting his father released," says the voice clip as quoted by the news agency.

The Taliban had detained the lecturer earlier.

Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Zabiullah Mujahid had told Khaama Press that he was provoking people against the system and had disrespected officials of IEA (Taliban government).
