Taliban attack Afghanistan prison, 430 inmates flee

Kabul, Sept 14 (IBNS): At least 436 prisons were freed as Taliban militants stormed a prison in Afghanistan's southern Ghazni province on Monday, media reports said.

At least 436 prisoners ran away as a result of the overnight attack in Ghazni City, the provincial capital. Deputy police chief, Asadullah Insafi, confirmed the attack to Pajhwok Afghan News.

According to reports, four policemen were killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid  was quoted as saying by  Pajhwok Afghan News that 10 suicide bombers attacked the jail, an incident that triggered a clash in the Khuda-i-Dad area on the outskirts of the city.
