At least 15 people died and five others were hurt in an overnight fire at a nightclub in the Russian city of Kostroma, media reports said on Saturday.

Some 250 people were evacuated from the building when it caught fire at night in the city, which is some 300 kilometers northeast of Moscow, reports Radio Free Asia.

The blaze at the Poligon club was put out at around 7:30 a.m. local time on November 5, authorities told the news portal.

A criminal investigation has been launched into the incident.
