At least three Federal Constabulary (FC) officials were killed and three terrorists shot dead after an attack on the paramilitary force’s headquarters in Peshawar on Monday, according to media reports.

Five people, including two officials, were injured in the assault.

Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mian Saeed told Dunya News that three suicide bombers carried out the attack. According to reports, one of the attackers detonated himself at the gate around 8:10 a.m., killing three security personnel stationed outside the facility.

Saeed said the two remaining assailants entered the building after the initial blast, but were “immediately killed” by FC officials.

The injured were transported to a hospital, where their condition was reported to be stable.

Sources told Dunya News that FC and Pakistan Army units have launched an operation against the terrorists.

Local media reported that the blast occurred while a parade involving nearly 450 personnel was underway inside the headquarters.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack in a post on X, saying: “President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemns the attack on the Federal Constabulary HQ in Peshawar, offering heartfelt condolences & praising the courage of security forces. He affirms that externally backed Fitna-al-Khawarij cannot weaken Pakistan’s unity, resilience or resolve.”
