Pakistan's key opposition leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif tests COVID-19 positive

Islamabad:  PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz  has tested COVID-19 positive, a party leader confirmed on Wednesday.

According to reports, she is undergoing treatment in her home.

Party's Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb confirmed the development on Twitter.

Maryam said she is having fever, cough and flu symptoms.

Maryam Nawaz also tweeted: "Many thanks Kami and everyone sending prayers my way. Overwhelmed by outpouring of prayers & good wishes. Means a world. I have fever, cough and flu symptoms but am being treated at home. Thank you once again and Jazak’Allah."

Pakistan is once against witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases in recent times.
