Pakistan still struggling for independence: Woman Journalist

Islamabad: In a veiled attack on the Pakistan government, a prominent woman journalist of the nation said the South Asian country is still struggling for independence even after 73 years of freedom from the British rule.

Pakistan and India were formed as two separate nations when British rule ended in 1947.

Pakistani journalist Marvi Sirmed questioned the conditions and hardships faced by people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan and other regions for so many years even as the nation celebrated its 74th Independence Day on Aug 14.

"Marking 73 yrs of existence, Pak still struggling for independence. People in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pak admnstd Kashmir, nth military farms, Media, parliament, activists, 1000s of missing persons, #Julie...none is free. Happy birthday Pakistan!" she tweeted.
