Islamabad, July 21 (IBNS): At least six people were killed in a suicide attack on District Headquarter Hospital and firing at a police checkpost in Pakistan's DI Khan area on Sunday, media reports said.

The attacks left 10 people hurt.

According to Dl Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Salim Riaz, unidentified gunmen on four motorcycles opened fire on policemen at the Kotla Saidan checkpost in a residential area at approximately 7:45am on Sunday morning, martyring two policemen, reported Dawn News.

Following the gun attack, a suicide blast took place at the hospital where the victims were shifted, the DPO told the newspaper.

The bomber struck at the entrance to the hospital, martyring four policemen and three civilians who were visiting their relatives, reported the Pakistan-based newspaper.

The investigation into the matter is currently going on.

The areas have been cordoned off.

According to media reports, the suicide bomber associated with the attack was a woman.
