Lahore/UNI: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday summoned an emergency Parliament session after lawyers allegedly attacked Punjab Provincial Minister for Information Fayyaz ul Hasan Choban in Punjab Institute of Cardiology here.

"We will not let anyone take law into their hands," Khan was quoted as saying by sources, the Geo TV broadcaster reported.

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan contacted two leading figures in the Punjab province security forces, including the chief secretary and inspector general of the police, and demanded a report on the incident in Lahore, Sputnik reported.

MR Khan also urged Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar to visit the violence-hit spot.

Earlier in the day, a group of lawyers attacked the Punjab Institute of Cardiology’s emergency room.

According to the broadcaster, Chohan, who visited the hospital was allegedly manhandled by the lawyers.

"They tried to kidnap me," the broadcaster quoted Chohan as saying.

"I came to deal with the situation and they started abusing me," he added.

Chohan informed that an FIR would be registered against those responsible.
