Islamabad, May 1 (IBNS): A new Islamabad International Airport was inaugurated in Pakistan's Islamabad city on Tuesday.

The new airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Abbasi said his government not only initiates projects but also completes them.

During his address at the event, Abbasi said the airport is crucial as it sits at the crossroads of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and will help to become a new hub of interconnectivity.

"The new facility will also act as a gateway to economic development by employing people and spurring business activities," the PM was quoted as saying by Geo News.

He said: "The airport reflects the work of five years of the current government."
