Mansehra, Pakistan: Traders closed shops and stormed a police post in the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in the Mansehra region of Pakistan on Monday after a boy was electrocuted in a bid to escape during a crackdown on polythene bags.

The protesters, who also blocked the Karakoram Highway outside Ghazikot Township and placed the body on it, called for the registration of a murder case against the assistant commissioner, who led the action, and her guard, reports Dawn News.

They insisted that Mohammad Asif got an electric shock while fleeing as the AC ordered her guard and a policeman to arrest him during the Zafar Chowk crackdown.

Led by JUI-F leaders Mufti Kifayatullah and Hidayatullah Shah and trader body president Haroonur Rasheed, the protesters shouted slogans against the district administration.

They also smashed window panes and doors in the hospital checkpost.

The police have not registered an FIR into the incident.
